“Democrazy” – A Poem
Here’s a poem I wrote a couple of weeks ago. It’s again in that haiku style, each stanza a separate haiku. I don’t know why I find that style appealing, but it sure beats some of the styles of poems in the New Yorker. I will give a mocking example, though for some reason, the large amount of spaces I have put between key words does not seem to be showing up. Imagine the poem with large spaces in odd places.
A Stupid Poem like those in the New Yorker

When I
write for some
reason, I
cannot keep
my thoughts
in a straight
line or work
with complete
sentences.
Anyway, that is a bad poem; here is a perhaps decent one.
Democrazy

A benchmark response:
Stoppards against victory,
defeat guarantors.
The people’s reply:
Headstrong president safeguard,
checks and balances.
An Iraqi’s view:
Deathsquad drivebys, brutal costs,
foreign invaders.
