Jesus Camp

I just watched this insane documentary (called “Jesus Camp”) about psycho-Christians and how they work to brain-wash children. And that’s the straightup truth about it, no editorializing on my part at all. Inspired by these folks, I penned a few lines. Enjoy!

I got to send out this prayer
Jesus, I know you hear me out there
I look on this world, see such a mess
I know that you hear me in all my stress
When I cry out your name, lord
it’s not in vain, lord
I mean what I say, say what I mean
The streets bleed sin till they’re clean
I believe in your spirit
I believe you do save
I believe you do hear this
I believe till my grave
And when I do die, to heaven I’ll rise
I’m going up, the spirit in the sky
I’ve seen your face, with my own eyes
My dreams, they don’t lie,
you wait for me, Jesus, above me so high.

I look at America, watch it crumble
Jesus, my savior, I stand ‘fore you humble
I’m just one man, what can I do?
You expect me to shine on thru
this darkness, you harken,
One thousand angels come sparklin’
If I can see their light, I can spread it around
Watch it penetrate into the ground
and come radiating back
In my wonder, I can’t help but laugh
That’s Jesus’s magic.
He’s the man who saved us, the tragic.
He knows our hearts, he knows our sins
He knows when our lives end and begin
He’s got a plan for us, and I will follow
Without him, my heart is just a hollow
Your spirit, lord, fills me on up
Watch me kneel and drink from your cup
I taste your blood, Christ, my savior
I bend down and praise your
holy name, it’s for you I live
and for you I die, like you did for me
So praise be to thee.

85% of America is Christian
But they can’t hear your voice, they don’t listen
They’re posers, fakes, you know how they do
They might pray, but they’re not Christian enough for you.
Hear my holy plea, I stand before Christ
On my judgement day, I know I’ve done right
Every sin that I did, was in his holy name
If I had it to do over, I’d do it the same
When I slit that man’s throat, it was for god’s love
If that man is righteous, he’ll rise up above
He’ll look down to earth with praises for me
And soon I’ll be rising to sit next to thee
And if he’s a sinner, down he shall go
No true losses, for as we all know
With sin comes death, it’s straight and forward
If you sin, you go down to hell, lord.
Without your forgiveness, mankind is doomed
So, when you rose, came out of your tomb,
Walked earth again, in your name we say,
Jesus Christ, lives again on this day.

Let their lies end, as I speak this verse
No Global Warming, ridiculous, of course.
The lord provides, for all of our needs.
When we do suffer, then we truly see
God’s mercy and how he does care
At your lowest, he will be there.
This earth he has given, this nation too
It is ours to use for me and for you
To take what we can, grow with his love
As Noah stepped up, let out the dove
and watched it return, with an olive twig
This is the sign that god wants us to live.
No standing back, conservation
God has given this world for our salvation.
So save other’s we will, by spreading the message
Jesus is love, there’s no other lesson.
Get it and live, miss it and die.
You can’t miss it, no matter how you try.
I preach to you, out on the corner
to America, I’m just trying to warn her.
Shape up or ship out, ’cause when God comes again
Without Jesus, you without any friends.
