A Lull in Nonstop Action
The weekend is an excellent time to find myself with absolutely nothing to do. When I find myself in this state while at work, I am overcome with burdening guilt and a sense of complete hopelessness. But, on the weekend, I just fall over and take a nap.
This weekend proved an excellent time to relax. So much so that I cannot even recall what activities I filled it with. Friday is especially vague, though now that I look back I realize that I went with my dad so he could buy a new bike, something he hasn’t done in his last 30 years of riding. The bike he got is identical to mine. That means that A) if we ride together, we’ll look like chumps. And B) he bought a good bike. We went and took a tour of my work (as guided by myself) and then had dinner at Olive Garden, a step up from the usual Perkins or Applebees.
Saturday, I hung out with Brittany in the afternoon, taking part in some serious outdoor activities, mostly limited to skateboarding and buying some Gorilla brand glue at Home Depot, which, come to think of it, was indoors, not out. Also dinner at Takara – delicious sushi. A step up from usual State Street fare. That’s what happens when you get a big fancy job like me and go all “corporate” as Krista so frequently reminded me Wednesday.
Today has been exciting as well, I suppose. Recall – a week ago I bought a skateboard. I came to the conclusion that the holes for the rear bolts were drilled crooked. I took it in and had them swap decks. And then they gave me the old deck to keep. So I got half a new skateboard. That’s pretty cool, though I like my old deck a lot. I am sure this new deck (made by Element) is equally awesome. I did some laundry and chopped some green peppers. And read a lot. And e-mailed my cousins. And contemplated what next week has in store for me.
I am excited to go to work tomorrow! And excited for more training to start on Wednesday! And excited to get paid on Saturday! FINALLY, money in the bank. I also pick up the keys to my new apartment on Tuesday. That will be weird – two apartments. I’m already picking out things to take over there. Oh golly.
