Closer Than Ever

Wednesday, December 14th, 2005

I got done with my story revision last night, and had it printed before 10:30 pm. I had my reading journal (for the same class) completed and printed by that time as well. When I left the library around 10:30, I felt a bit of a spring in my step. This semester is going along just fine.

I just completed both of my papers that are due tomorrow. I haven’t proofread them yet, so there is still some work to do, but in an hour or so (hopefully) they will be off the printer, stapled, and ready to hand in tomorrow. They both turned out well, I think, and hopefully the editing process will remove all doubt from my mind. As soon as I get those handed in, the work load still on my mind goes down immensely.

After I hand in those two papers, I will have just two exams to worry about, and plenty of time to study for them. For my exam on Saturday, I still need to do some reading, but I can get started on that tonight and tomorrow night. Then, with that reading out of the way, I will have all of Friday to study. That’s a good 8 hours that I could spend in the library. If I do spend that much time, it will be more studying for an exam than I have done all semester. This makes sense, seeing as it is a final, but it will also be evidence of the fact that I haven’t had that kind of time to study. When that exam is done Saturday afternoon, I will have Sunday and Monday to study for my next exam, on Tuesday. Of course, I have some other things to do, like get my car oil changed and get a haircut, but overall, the time can be spent studying for an exam I am not particularly concerned about.

Needless to say, this is all quite a relief. In other news, I cashed in the change I had been collecting over the semester, to the tune of $45. I took it right out and spent it! I bought myself a neoprene case for my laptop that fits fit on it and allows me to take my computer with me in a backpack (with a little precaution – just remember what happened to all Zach’s CDs back in high school). I also bought my cousin’s a Christmas present – the same thing I got for Tony last year – a copy of the incredibly fun and popular game ‘Katamari Damichi.’ Unless they get an X-Box 360 for Christmas, I think they will really enjoy playing it.

My Christmas gifts have almost all arrived. I am still waiting on one thing for my mom’s husband Mark. But that is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. And then I can spend hours wrapping gifts in newspaper. Or something else. I think I even have some old REAL wrapping paper in Mishicot. But newspaper adds a homestyle, poor student feel to the gifts. And I would like to remind people how poor I am, especially around this time of year.

But what about you, loyal readers, how are your finals going? Are you stressed out? Let me know, and I’ll be sure to do nothing to alleviate all the pressure you are under.
