New Layout

I decided to make a new layout for my website. I wasn’t really happy with the old layout anymore. It was too simple and too restrictive. So with a little help from Tony, telling me what an image map is, I was able to make the whole website run off of one image. It loads the image, which then has all the links built right in. So in the image there are links to the About page, the Links page, the Photos page, the Music page, the Poems page, and my blog. You will notice there are a few pages that are not linked to. Why is this, Michael? Well, for one, the other links didn’t seem important. No one, including myself, uses the Wiki page. And no one used the discussion boards. So I just got rid of them. The wiki page still exists and may be in the other stuff page, but I haven’t decided yet. Look for all the pages to get revamped in the upcoming days. They will all move to mirror the new layout, which means they will be cleaner and easier to navigate.

I was thinking about the photograph that I have essentially adopted as my logo – the Black-Eyed Susan photo that I took in Megan’s yard a few years ago. I don’t know what it is about that image, but I have incorporated in both the main pages and in place of my eyes in the banner of my blog. I don’t know what it is about that flower or that image, but I really like it. So it remains a central focus in the new page layout.

Tell me what you think of the new main page. That’d be awesome.
