Michael Goes Global
Monday, November 21st, 2005A couple of weeks ago, I was in class talking to Megan (I think I mentioned her earlier, a person I have two classes with this semester, not the girl I dated for 3.5 years) and Krista. Somehow we got on the subject of my album Unstoppable Cool. Blowing my mind, they said they wanted copies. Nay, they demanded copies. I said alright, alright whatever, but they asked me about it again and again, and I finally relented and burned them copies this morning. That was the first time I had ever burned someone a copy of the album.
Krista already listened to it and complimented me on it. So wow! That’s pretty cool. I haven’t talked to Megan, so I don’t know her reaction yet. Perhaps she will have listened to it by tomorrow, and I can ask her what she thought. We’ll see. So anyway, there you have it. I’m out there and lovin’ every minute of it. People are listening to my music and enjoying it. They both also downloaded Hollaback Bitch and liked that as well, though it was a bit graphic for Krista, so she said. Megan liked it and was playing it for her roommate, who asked “who made this?” and as it turns out, I know her; her name is Carrie and we had Psych 225 together a year ago. So that was pretty wild. That song is out there too and meeting with good reviews.
I download a lot of music. Well, not a lot, but I don’t hesitate to go and find a song when I want to listen to it. And so I was thinking – a lot of crazy artists complain about their music being out there and so on, and a lot more record company execs complain even louder, but god damn! someone put my music out there! I want people downloading my intellectual property! I want my intellectual property spread across the globe! I want a number one downloaded album, screw sales! I want my name out there!
So you, tech whiz who has time to waste and is reading this post, put my music out there! Create some buzz. I’m the next big MC, and I sing too! Sing better than a rhyme even. I mean, snap, I got skills man, but no one knows it. Except Krista and Megan, who have now listened to my album. And are foaming at the mouth for my second to come out. But I gotta get to work on that. 12 tracks and I have almost no beats and only some rhymes. I gotta put in some time. Anyway, holla at me if you want my album, otherwise, keep waiting for it to hit a download service near you.
